Vernika Singh (b. 1993) is a multidisciplinary artist based in New Delhi. Completely self-taught, Singh’s practice revolves around the themes of ‘dynamism in movement’, ‘stillness’ and ‘embodiment’. Spanning nearly a decade, her works have found place in over 250 corporate and private collections around the world, including Ernst & Young, NMACC, Haleon, Husch Blackwell and NinedotArts.

The idea of dynamism has long informed her artistic language. Through sculpture, she attempts to capture the fleeting energy of movement and translate it into form. Her early explorations of movement emerged through human figures — athletes caught mid-stride or dancers suspended in graceful motion.

Her engagement with dynamism evolved further through installation-based works. The subject of these installations — the balloon — appeared at once entirely different yet intrinsically connected to the human figure. Singh perceived floating balloons almost as dancing bodies in space. Their lightness and constant interaction with air and movement embody for her a distinct sense of energy and joy. The way wind guides and animates them continues to inform her understanding of dynamism.
